The 10th World Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities convened on 12–14 June 2026 in Tokyo, Japan. Scholars from Nigeria, Palestine, Slovakia, Romania, Albania, the United States, Morocco, Sweden, Thailand, China, Germany, and other countries gathered to exchange ideas and research.
Key presentations examined citizen perceptions of eco-friendly public toilets and urban governance, scarcity-induced ingenuity at the bottom of the pyramid, Society 5.0 and digital challenges in Japan and Vietnam, and psychopathy within contemporary criminal justice systems. Researchers also highlighted intergenerational learning, art therapy programmes, reconfigurations of academic identity economies by AI, aestheticised dining and participatory culture, and alternatives to immigration detention for refugee children.
Further contributions explored IoT-enabled solitude and user autonomy, art-based parent education, community resilience in Taiwan, climate and financial risks, teacher-targeted bullying, bilingualism in international relations, constant connectivity and micro-industry development, as well as assessments of international criminal justice. Together, these studies underscore the interplay of urban governance, digital innovation, art therapy, social justice, and resilience in shaping social sciences research.
