The World Conference on Social Sciences and Humanities – SHCONF – is an annual event. Our 2019 edition took place between the 12^th and 14^th of December, 2019 in one of the most spectacular cities in the world – Barcelona, Spain.

Attended by researchers, scientists, doctorate and post-doctorate students, members of non-profit organizations, and business representatives, the event was as diverse as it was engaging. Here are just a few examples of the participating countries: Mexico, Poland, Turkey, Albania, Romania, Taiwan, and others.

Every presentation at the event – be it an oral or a poster one – underwent a double-blind review by SHCONF’s prestigious scientific committee. As a result, the quality of the presentations was stellar. Topics covered include picture books in early childhood foreign language education, internet, and journalism in North Korea, economic activity of the population by age in EU countries, spatial modeling of social expenditure in EU countries, political opinion mining, etc.

Interactive discussions, engaging presentations, and buzzing networking hours – all of these factors contributed to the success of the event. The attendees also left with the memories of the city as everyone got a chance to explore Barcelona on a free guided tour.

We are now hard at work preparing for the 2024 edition of SHCONF. Will you be there? We certainly hope so!
